History of Brocks Gap Jr. Rifle Team

Birmingham, Alabama 

 The Jr. Rifle Team consist of youth from the ages of 8-18.The Shelby County Shooting Sports Association was established in 2003 to teach gun safety and marksmanship skills and to promote the shooting sports in Alabama.  We began by teaching the Boy Scouts of America Rifle Merit Badge and a 4H Rifle program. Now we offer a variety of things for youth and adults. In 2007 Shelby County Shooting Sports merged with Brocks Gap Training Center (BGTC) to form the "Brocks Gap Training Center Jr. Rifle Team (BGTCJR). Brocks Gap was formed in the early 60's and now has over 900 adult members.
